Saul Benjamin was a photographer who was held in prison along with James Heller. Saul was embedded with a light armored unit and the last thing he remembered was falling asleep.
After Heller regained conscious, Saul informed him of the bunker they were being held in. He explained about the prisoners who were taken by the soldiers did not return, but their screams could be heard. Eventually, Saul was taken by the soldiers while Heller was left in his cell alone.
Eventually it was revealed that the entire scenario was a Blackwatch test with the goal of determining whether James Heller should be recruited by them. Whether Saul was actually a Blackwatch agent or not is unknown.
